Homeownership!

At some point after my heart surgery I read an article about having one big happening (i.e. new job, hew home, etc.) happen per year.  We are pulling out all the stops! :)

Most of you haven’t seen the new home that we recently signed the papers on.  We went up there today to take measurements on windows, etc. but weren’t able to get into the house because apparently the garage door openers have been installed over the past couple of days.

This picture was taken shortly after the neighborhood ice cream man cruised by the house.

We can’t wait to get in there and start making it a real home!  We were able to peek through the hole in the door where the deadbolt will go and see the carpet that got laid this week.  It looks really good.  We also got most of our appliances ordered for the house this week as well.

Yay!

Official start of the 2nd Trimester

Whew, we made it through the first trimester! Looking back I really didn’t have morning sickness as bad as some people, but I still had a few weeks (4-5 weeks to be exact) that were very uncomfortable. But, for the past week or two I’ve started to feel more like myself again (which has made Jeremy very happy). It is almost time to pack away all of the normal clothes, because slowly but surely I’m finding that my clothes (especially pants) are no longer comfortable. Auntie Angela and I are going shopping today to find some cute maternity work clothes, which I must say are very comfortable. We will post pictures soon so those of you that don’t see me on a regular basis can see my belly progress. Check back in a couple of days!

A very productive weekend!

We had a great weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Fuksa, which was full of lots of baby shopping! We purchased the crib (seen below) and the matching night stand, and Grandpa and Grandma F. bought this high chair (thank you, Grandma and Grandpa F!!!). ptru1-3541710reg.jpgThe color is very unique and fits our style – and it is in the same line as the stroller that we will be purchasing in a couple of months.

We hope to soon be posting pictures of our new house. The search is on for the perfect house to bring little Whiz home to. Hopefully within the next month we will be posting pictures and soliciting ideas for the nursery. Keep your fingers crossed!
