Today we had our second OB appointment and everything is going well!  I’m measuring at just about 13 weeks, which is right on track.  We heard the baby’s heartbeat (it took a couple of minutes to find… two very long minutes) and Whiz’s little heart is beating very fast - just like it should be.  Saturday will be the start of the second trimester.  Now it’s time to start stocking up on diapers and such!

In a effort to determine just how much money we are going to have to spend on our little Whiz over the next few months, Jeremy and I set out for Nebraska Furniture Mart to price baby cribs and furniture. We did not have any intention of purchasing anything this early, but have found a great deal on the crib pictured. So great, in fact, that we will probably head out there again next weekend when Grandpa and Grandma Fuksa are in town to make our first big purchase. The crib is ebony colored pine, is very sturdy and will look great in a boy’s or girl’s room. Plus, once Whiz out grows the crib it turns into a toddler bed and then into a full-size bed with a headboard and a foot board. Now the fun part will be deciding what color bedding to put with the ebony crib!  Any suggestions?

I am happy to report that Whiz has finally decided to allow me to eat.  I had pretty bad food aversions and nausea until the start of Week 11 - I even lost 10 lbs.  We went out to dinner with some friends on Saturday night and I just kept eating and eating and it was so delicious.  I think the worst is finally over, thank God!  Things are starting to grow down there and I predict that I will be wearing maternity clothes within the next couple of weeks or so.  Time to go shopping!
