We have a couple of exciting events coming up in the next 2 weeks. First, one week from tomorrow (Thursday, August 30th) we close on our brand new house! We visited it last night and things are progressing nicely, with only a few minor details to be finished before our walk-through on Monday. Check back for pictures once we get everything unpacked and the internet set up.

A few days after we move in (Wednesday, September 5th) we have our next doctor’s appointment. More specifically, we have the BIG ultrasound to find out the sex of our little Whiz. The poll on this site is split 50/50 between boy and girl. Jeremy’s grandma is absolutely sure that the baby is a girl. Not sure if she has magical powers or is just hoping. Jeremy and I are pretty sure at this point that Whiz is a girl, but we will be happy with either. We will be sure to get online as soon as we get home to make the big announcement and unveil the new gender specific site design. Then the shopping begins!

I have been promising for a few weeks that I would put up some belly pictures, so here they are. My stomach is starting to get very hard and round, and I’ve been told that over the next month Whiz will DOUBLE in size. I’m experiencing what is known as “round ligament” pains, which means my stomach is stretching and making room for the baby. It is painful at times, but only lasts for a couple of minutes. So many weird things happen during pregnancy.

5 Weeks – Just found out

12 Weeks

16 Weeks (Please ignore the shine on my face. We had been packing all day.) The belly is getting quite round!

We had our third OB appointment this afternoon and everything is going very well. We heard the heartbeat, which has slowed down a little since the last appointment (totally normal, the doctor tells us). My belly is measuring 17 1/2 weeks – about a week ahead of schedule. My blood pressure and weight all look good, so the doctor was very pleased about that.

Our next appointment is September 5; an ultrasound is scheduled for that date and we will find out the sex of our little Whiz. So check back in a little less than a month to view the new site design. Will is be pink, or blue?
