We heart Nathan…and his new bedroom!

We had our level II ultrasound yesterday morning and Nate finally cooperated and let us get a picture of his heart. Our doctor wanted to get a clear view of the 4 chambers to make sure everything looked okay, but we could not see his heart at the past 2 ultrasounds at the doctor’s office. We went to St. Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza, which incidentally was where Jeremy had his heart surgery, and met with a perinatologist. He looked at all of Nathan’s organs, limbs and fluid and said he is really healthy and looks really good in there. Nate has gained 1/2 a pound in a week, weighing in at 3lbs. 6ozs – still around the 50th percentile. He also cooperated and allowed us to get a picture of his face; we hope to buy a scanner and post pictures soon.

In other news, we’ve finally finished the big projects in the nursery. Jeremy finished painting and we have all of the furniture set up. Grandma Burkhardt is still working on the bedding, but she finished the curtain, which looks great! So, without further delay, here are the first pictures of Nathan Cole’s first bedroom:

We still have plans to add a photo board behind the glider and a small bookshelf next to the crib – and, of course, some cuddlie stuffed animals and toys. Jeremy and I worked very hard to create a very simple space that really fits our personalities. We hope you love it as much as we do!
