One Week Birthday!

Mr. Potato turned one week yesterday.  When asked how he felt about turning one week, Nathan replied by farting loudly.  We’re thinking we need to ask the doctors about that.  It seems superhuman.

Grandma Judy left for home early this morning, which leaves Robin alone at home today. We both have certainly appreciated all the help that all our family has given up to this point.

  • Grandma and Grandpa Fuksa were there to hear Nathan’s first cries, they had the house clean when we walked in the door, and made homemade macaroni and cheese that first night back.
  • Grandma Burkhardt was there for Nathan’s first bath, fixed meals for everyone and got all the piled up laundry done as well as deep cleaned the bathrooms.
  • Grandpa Burkhardt made a special trip down from Algona, IA just to meet Nathan even though he had to turn right around first thing the next morning to be home in time to go back to work.
  • Let’s not forget Aunt Angela for being there to help and answer tons of new mommy questions and of course, Uncle Pete for sneaking in and putting some finishing touches on the basement office.
  • And, Aunt Erin in Mississippi was really good about calling and checking in on how the whole family was doing.  I know that she and Uncle Randal would have been here if there was a way for them to do so.

We’ve loved having all of you share this first week with us.  I do think though that Robin and I are looking forward to this first quiet evening alone… just the 3 (or 6, depending on how you count) of us.

Here’s to day one of normal life with the kiddo.

More pictures than you can handle

I finally got to sit down and import all my photos into Apple Aperture and sort out the rejects.  I hadn’t really messed with Aperture much, but tonight I figured out how to export web galleries of imported projects.

So, I created a gallery of all the pictures taken over the last week.  Check out pictures to your heart’s content.
