That’s right…Nathan is one month old today. Time is just flying by! If you notice, Nate is already pretty smart and was able to tell us how old he is (ok, you’ll have to take our word for it that he actually held up his index finger, but the camera wasn’t quick enough to catch it).
Nate has learned quite a bit in his one month. He has started to smile much more, which is so adorable.

He also started sleeping in his crib at night, although he will only sleep in it through the first stretch (usually from around 11:00-3:00 - after that he will only go back to sleep in his bassinet in our room). Today was the first day that he actually took his afternoon nap in his crib.

This also gives you a idea of how long he is. We are already wearing some 3-6 month outfits, simply because of the length. And notice that he is sleeping on his tummy. A note to all of the mommys-to-be out there…the doctors and nurses will advise against tummy sleeping, but since Nathan started sleeping on his tummy a couple of days ago we’ve notice a dramatic and positive change in his sleeping habits. He sleeps much better, more sound, and a lot longer. I’ll admit I was very nervous to put him on his tummy at first, but the results have been amazing. Plus, we have a monitor and I can hear every move and he is right next door to me. I’m a big fan of tummy sleeping now!
Speaking of sleeping, we’ve moved from the swing to his bouncy seat for relaxation and nap time. This is Nate’s new favorite place to chill. Thanks Great Aunt Necy!!!

One final note from Nate:

“I’m having my first professional pictures taken tomorrow. My mommy bought me a very smart sweater to wear and I’ve promised to be very cute and awake, and try as hard as I can to smile. Check back soon because I’m sure mommy is going to pester daddy to put the pictures up online for everyone to see. Thanks for reading my blog. Peace.”
