Sick!

Robin is at home with Nathan today, who has come down with his first cold.  She talked to the nurse this morning on the phone and found out that (of course) it’s part of a bug that’s been going around.  And, with Grandma Judy, Aunt Angela, and Tyler all hacking up a lung last weekend, it was inevitable that this would happen (I’m also feeling a little sniffly if anyone’s keeping track).

It sounds like there’s nothing that would warrant us taking him to the doctor at this point.  The nurse suggested some baby decongestant that Robin’s going to pick up as well as a saline spray that we spray in and then aspirate.

Speaking of aspiration, he’s starting to take it like a champ.  At first he cried quite a bit but now it doesn’t really bother him.  Probably because it makes it so much easier to breathe in the end.

Poor kid.  He doesn’t really act like he feels bad.  He’s still smiling and laughing and doesn’t have a temperature.  He just happens to sound like that snot-nosed kid at Wal-Mart that’s coughing his crud all over that Power Rangers action figure before his mom makes him put it back on the shelf.

Good times.

Nathan’s First Easter

Grandpa and Grandma Burkhardt supplied eggs for Tyler’s Easter egg hunt.

Tyler also hunted eggs for Nathan at our house.  All of the eggs were filled with pennies, which Tyler put in Nathan and his piggy banks.

If only little things like this made everyone this happy!

Hope everyone had a happy Easter!

Nathan’s first day of “school” picture.

Today was the day that Mom has dreaded for 8 weeks now.  It was my first day back at work and Nate’s first day of daycare.  You know how your mom always took a picture of you on your first day of school?  Well, Jeremy and I decided to capture this moment for the blog.  So here is a picture of Nathan and Mom getting ready for our “first days.”

It was hard to leave him this morning, but I did ok.  Once I got to work I kept myself very busy and the day went by fairly quickly.  Nathan had a very good day as well and was a very good boy at daycare (just as he always is).  While it was hard to leave him, I know that he is well taken care of during the day and that makes it a little better.  Today was definitely harder on me than it was on him, but I know it will get better.
