Happy Birthday, Stella!!!

Today is Stella Luna’s 8th Birthday.

We celebrated by taking a long walk over to see Uncle Pete and Cousin Ty.  Nathan took his first ride in the stroller without his car seat.  He really enjoyed the ride…so much so that he fell asleep on the way home!

Check back tomorrow for new photos and a video of Sir Nate enjoying Daddy’s present!

3 months…A Retrospective

Yes, it really has been 3 months since Nathan was born.  Crazy!  He has changed so much over the past 3 months it’s almost hard to believe.  See for yourself…

3 Weeks                                           3 Months

Nathan has learned a lot of new tricks in his short 3 months.  It is amazing to watch him learn and discover new things.  He’s recently discovered his hands and thumb and sucks furiously on them until we can put a nuk in his mouth.  We have been practicing hand coordination and how to grab objects.  He is doing pretty well and is able to keep a hold of rattles that we put in his hand.  He is also doing really well with tummy time, too.  It’s only a matter of time before he starts rolling over!

Look at how strong he is!!!

Nate is very curious and can spend hours looking at things.  We put him in his crib on Saturday afternoon so Jeremy and I could get some work done around the house.  He laid in there for over an hour “talking” to his mobile.

And while he is not totally sleeping through the night yet, Nathan is a really good sleeper.  Below is a picture of Nate and Daddy doing what they both love to do…sleep in.

I think the best skill that Nathan has acquired is his love for “singing.”  Daddy was able to catch Momma and Nathan singing Saturday morning.

Each day Nathan does something that surprises us and makes us smile.  He is such a great baby - rarely is he upset or unhappy.  We are so blessed and can’t imagine our lives without him.  We look forward to teaching and showing him new things and you can be sure that there will be a camera there to catch it all.

Nathan’s Big Weekend

First of all, Nathan is feeling much better. It took about a week for the cough and runny nose to go away, but we are all better now. Sorry it has taken so long for the update!

Nathan had a very good weekend. It started with weekend visitors on Friday. Momma and Daddy’s friends, Eric and Laura Finley, came up from Oklahoma City to visit the Fuksa family for the weekend. We had a great time with them and enjoyed showing off Kansas City. The weekend was also full of several firsts for Nathan.

He visited his first Kansas City BBQ restaurant. We took this picture specially for Grandpa Burkhardt, because this is his favorite BBQ. It was delicious, and someday Nathan will be able to enjoy it, too!

On our tour of Kansas City we took Eric and Laura to the Country Club Plaza. This was also Nathan’s first trip to the Plaza.

Nathan loves to be outside, so hopefully it will warm up soon. We found the sunglasses while shopping on the Plaza and decided to get some for Nate. Optometrists recommend that even babies wear sunglasses to protect their eyes from UV rays and we thought that if we put them on Nate early he will get used to them. The glasses didn’t seem to bother him at all and he kept them on the entire time. Not only are the good for his eyes, they are adorable on him!

Before he was even born, Jeremy and I bought Nate a little pair of Chuck Taylor Converse sneakers. Here is a picture of Nathan wearing his first pair of shoes. Note the onesie that Daddy picked out…can you tell? :)

(He looked so cute in his little outfit I had to include 2 pictures!)

Finally, Nathan has started to really smile and talk a lot. Later this week we will try to post a new video and a longer update, but for now here is a cute picture to tide you over.
