6 month stats and exciting news

Nathan Cole Fuksa weighs 19 lbs 11 oz (80 percentile) and is 28 inches long (90th percentile). He has gained over 10 lbs and grown almost 6 inches since he was born. His doctor said that he is a very healthy boy!

In other exciting news…guess who can sit up all by himself?

(Just a side note, I think Nate looks a lot like his Momma in this picture, don’t you? :) )

This past weekend Nathan finally decided it was time to start sitting up like a big boy. We realized that he could sit up when we were playing ball with him Friday evening.

Great Grandma Helen gave Nathan a big red ball when she visited last month. We thought that playing with it might help Nathan learn to sit up and we were right. Nathan, Daddy and Momma have played ball every night since then. Nathan is getting pretty good at either rolling or kicking the ball back to one of us. It is very cute and really strengthens his tummy muscles. And he loves it! I think we may have a future soccer player on our hands. :)

P.S. Tyler picked out the toy tractor that Nathan is playing with in the first picture. He loves it already! Thanks, Ty!!!

The climbing fun has begun

Now that Nathan is fairly mobile it is hard to keep him in one place.  We’ve already had to abandon the swing.  Since he was born Nate has been sitting in the swing right outside of my bathroom every morning as I get ready.  Last week he decided that since he was a big boy he didn’t need to sit in the swing anymore and slid right out.  So now I put a blanket down and he plays with his toys and scoots around while I’m in the bathroom.  We realized last night that it was probably time to put away the bouncy seat as well when we walked in from the kitchen and saw this…

Then, once he made it out of the seat he tried to crawl back in.

That didn’t go quite as well.

So goodbye dear bouncy seat.  You served us well and were a lifesaver (and sanity saver) on numerous occasions.

A Great Weekend with Great Aunt Necy!

G.A. Necy came up from Oklahoma City to visit Nathan this weekend.  We had a really great time!  Friday was her birthday so Nathan treated everyone to dinner at O’Doud’s Irish Pub in Zona Rosa.  It was a delicious dinner.  For some reason the hostess gave Nate a kids menu and there was a fun surprise inside…

On Saturday night we traveled to Atchison, KS for the Amelia Earhart Festival.  Even though it was hot we had a great time.  We heard some good music, saw a very cool aerobatics show and watched an amazing fireworks display.  We will definitely be going back next year!

We said goodbye to Aunt Necy this morning.  We had a great time and can’t wait until her next visit!
