Rompin’ and a Stompin’

Tonight Nathan went to a play program sponsored by North Kansas City School District Parent’s as Teachers Program.  It was called a “Romp and Stomp” and Nathan did just that.  He was one of the youngest kids there, so some of the stations were a little too advanced for him.  For example, we will not be able to play with play dough for a while…Nathan doesn’t like the taste of it.  And, of course, everything must go in his mouth at this stage.  But there were some activities that he really enjoyed.  Since Jeremy had a meeting tonight and was unable to join us, I spent most of my time chasing Nathan around and making sure that he didn’t steal toys from other kids.  I do have to say that Nathan is a very good sharer, which makes me very proud.  Here are the few pictures that I managed to get tonight.

He was doing a weird mouth thing tonight, for some reason.  I think he teeth are bothering him.  They’d bother me too if I were getting 6 in at one time!

Nathan didn’t really know what to think of the ball pit.  The little girl in there with him sure loved it and tried very hard to get Nathan to play with her.  I think next time we go he will have more fun.

Again with the mouth thing.

He was scared of the tunnel at first and didn’t want to go in, even though there were other kids going through there.  Once we had it to ourselves, I took the carrot that he had been carrying around all night and threw it into the tunnel.  Nathan went in after it, decided it was pretty fun, and went in and out for a good 10 minutes.  Then he was distracted by a ball, so we moved on to the next station.

We had a pretty good time tonight and will definitely be attending more activities like this.  Next time we will make sure that daddy can join us.

Go Bulldogs!

Uncle Randal and Aunt Erin were not able to come up for Nathan’s birthday because both of them had strep throat.  They sent Nathan’s birthday present last week and it is adorable!

We’re sorry you couldn’t make it, Uncle Randal and Aunt Eb.  Hope you are both feeling better!

Big boy goes to the doctor

This is what Nathan thought of his 12 month well-baby check-up today.

He received 5 shots, which he did not like at all.  He recovered quickly, but there were a lot of big crocodile tears flowing this time around.

Nathan weighs 26 lbs 2 ozs (87th percentile) and is 31.2 inches long (75th percentile).  His doctor is very happy with is progress and said that he is meeting or exceeding all of his developmental milestones.  Yay for Nathan!
