Our big boy helper

Nathan is becoming quite the helper these days.  A couple weekends ago we decided that since we are spending so much time in the backyard we needed to spiff the area up a little.  With Nathan’s help, we put in a grass garden around the patio.

The worst part of the entire process was ripping out the sod.

But Nathan was there to supervise…

provide assistance…

and help clean up.

Now this is the face of a boy who has been working hard (and eating dirt…yuck!).

Nathan and Momma took some time out to relax on the swing set.  (Nathan insisted that I get up there with him!)

Here is the finished product…sort of.  We greatly under-estimated the amount of rock we needed to fill the bed, so we still need 3-4 more bags.  But, you can get the idea.

We think it turned out pretty well and makes the backyard look really nice.  We still have more projects planned, so stay tuned for more pictures throughout the summer.

Momma & Daddy’s Night Out

A couple weeks ago Nathan and aunt Angela spent the evening together so Jeremy and I could go to the Kansas City Zoo’s annual fundraiser, Jazzoo.  We had a great time and sampled some delicious food and beverages.  We even managed to snap a cute self portrait.

(Please excuse the shininess…it was a little warm out that night.)

There was plenty of entertainment, but one group was particularly awesome.

If you are looking at this picture and saying to yourself, Hmm…that looks a lot like Micky Thomas from Starship, you would be correct.  By far the highlight of the evening was watching Starship – featuring Micky Thomas – belt out such classic hits as Sara, Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now and the crowd favorite (and worst song ever, according to VH1) We Built This City.  It was a lot of fun and we enjoyed getting out for some “adult time.” :)

Oklahoma – Visiting Grandpa & Grandma Fuksa

We traveled to Henessey to visit Grandpa and Grandma Fuksa over Memorial weekend (yes, I realize that was like a month ago).  We had a great visit and Nathan got to meet some of momma and daddy’s friends.

Nathan had a lot of fun eating cake and playing.  Here are some highlights…

As we all know, the boy loves cake.  We had 2 different kinds – red velvet and chocolate.  Nathan was in cake heaven!

This little chair is just Nathan’s size.  Even though he is supposed to keep his bottom down on the chair, we couldn’t resist snapping this picture because it was just so cute.

Nathan has his very own pool at Grandpa and Grandma’s, complete with an inflatable water slide.  He loves the water!

Nathan and Grandma had a lot of fun blowing bubbles together.  Apparently, Nathan thought they even tasted delicious.

Our little boy is turning into quite the little helper.  Grandpa was very impressed with his strength!

We have over 350 pictures that we just uploaded.  I’m not going to promise anything, but check back frequently this week because you may just see a new post every day!
