We were very fortunate to have Grandma Burkhardt, along with Tyler and Brandon, and Mamma and Papa Fuksa join us for Thanksgiving at our house this year (Aunt Angela and Grandpa Burkhardt had to work).  Jeremy and I enjoyed cooking and sharing the meal with everyone.  We hope you were blessed as much as we were.

Mamma and Papa stayed the weekend at our house and joined us at Christmas Tree Ranch to help Nathan select the perfect Christmas tree.  It was a beautiful day and was kind of weird shopping for Christmas trees when it was 70 degrees outside.  But, at least it wasn’t freezing!

We went to the back of the farm in search of a tree that wasn’t too wide and wouldn’t take up too much space in our living room.

Nathan brought along the tape measure to make sure we found one that was the correct size.

Since we went all the way to the back of the farm, Daddy and Papa had to drag the tree back up to the barn.  Nathan tried to help, but got tired quickly so he just walked along side and supervised.

Nathan had a great time helping us decorate.  Here are some highlights…

When we finally got the tree home and unbundled it we realized that the tree was a little taller than we first realized.  Final measurement, 9 feet tall.  Good thing we have high ceilings!

Our big boy has been exhibiting signs that he’s interested in potty training for a few months now. We bought him a potty and have started implementing a reward system to encourage him to learn how to use the seat:

• One marshmallow for just sitting on the potty
• Two marshmallows for going pee-pee
• Three marshmallows for going poop

Nathan has gone pee-pee in his potty a few times, but so far it’s just kind of a fluke.

Sometimes after a bath Nathan doesn’t want to put on his diaper so we went shopping and let him pick out some big boy pants. Of course, he chose Cars. He is quite into posing and we just happened to catch him on camera wearing his big boy underpants for the first time.

About 30 seconds after he put on his red Lightning McQueen underwear, he squatted down on the fireplace and peed everywhere.   So, Jeremy cleaned up while we put on another pair.

Again, he had to jump upon the fireplace and model another pair.

Five seconds after this picture was taken…he squatted down and pooped.
