Baby Proofing

Now that Nathan is becoming more mobile we decided it was time to finally install the gate at the top of the stairs.  We have really nice banisters and did not want to drill into the wood, so Jeremy came up with a solution.  We spent Sunday constructing, staining and installing.

This is what Jeremy made to attach the gate.

View of Nathan…he had to come over and check things out.

Looks good, momma and daddy!

Playing with Daddy

Since Nathan has become more mobile he loves it when we get down on the floor and play with him.  He really likes it when he and daddy wrestle.  I’m not sure how they got into this position, but it was pretty funny so I had to take a picture.

Nathan is getting really good at playing with his big red ball.  He wants to play almost every night and has learned how to stop the ball with his hands and then roll it back to us.

It’s one more tool we use to help him develop his hand-eye coordination and learn about cause and effect.  I think it’s going really well.

Nathan’s new view of the grocery store

Grocery shopping is quite difficult with Nate. It’s not that he is fussy or whiny, his infant carrier is so big and takes up almost the entire grocery cart. We all usually go to the store together - daddy pushes Nate in the stroller while momma fills up the grocery cart. When we went to the store a few days ago momma decided to try an experiment. I carried Nathan around the store in his Baby Bjorn infant carrier. It was a new experience for him and he loved walking through the store and smiling at all of the ladies. He is turning into quite a little flirt.
