The Rooster Explained

Back in March, on our first trip to Hennessey, Oklahoma, I wrote about Nathan’s first visit to Rooster’s Honky Tonk and Chicken Shack. We went back this past weekend for some fried chicken and delicious fried veggies. We met our good friends Laura and Eric for dinner and Aunt Erin’s friend Sarah also joined us. It was delicious! Nathan tried a little bit of chicken, which he thought was pretty good. He also had some green beans and okra and he loved both.

One of the great things about Rooster’s is the giant chicken in the back of an El Camino in the parking lot. Jeremy has been so excited to take Nathan’s picture with the rooster and luckily it was still light outside after we finished dinner.

Silliness.

The climbing fun has begun

Now that Nathan is fairly mobile it is hard to keep him in one place.  We’ve already had to abandon the swing.  Since he was born Nate has been sitting in the swing right outside of my bathroom every morning as I get ready.  Last week he decided that since he was a big boy he didn’t need to sit in the swing anymore and slid right out.  So now I put a blanket down and he plays with his toys and scoots around while I’m in the bathroom.  We realized last night that it was probably time to put away the bouncy seat as well when we walked in from the kitchen and saw this…

Then, once he made it out of the seat he tried to crawl back in.

That didn’t go quite as well.

So goodbye dear bouncy seat.  You served us well and were a lifesaver (and sanity saver) on numerous occasions.

Nathan Loves Stella

Every time Nathan sees Stella he gets the biggest smile on his face. When he is lucky enough to be graced with her presence he reaches out to her and wants to pet and grab her hair. We are trying to teach Nathan not to grab her hair and ears and that her nose is not a chew toy. And we are trying to help Stella stay patient and tolerate his curiosity. So far Stella has done pretty well.

Hopefully they will both learn to respect each other and become good friends.
