Nathan’s Top 10

In honor of Nathan’s 10 month “birthday” yesterday, daddy and I came up with a top 10 list.  So, without further ado, from the home office in Kansas City, MO, here are the 10 Top Ten Things You Might Not Know About Nathan…

10.  Nathan is quite fond of Duran Duran and other 80s groups.  The kid has great taste in music!

9.  Nathan is addicted to the pink-ness of Frankenberry cereal.

8.  Bath time is no longer fun time for Nathan.  It is “I-want-to-stand-up-and-play-with-the-faucet” time.  Hopefully this will change.

7.  Nathan can’t go to sleep at night without his lovey bear.  We’ve tried.  It doesn’t work.

6.  We cannot be anywhere near a stair without Nathan wanting to climb up.  The problem is that he hasn’t learned how to get back down yet.

5.  My name is Nathan…I like to dance!  Seriously, he’s got some rhythm.

4.  For reasons yet unknown, there are certain songs that cause him to start giggling uncontrollably.

3.  Nathan’s hair has not decided what color it wants to be.  Some days it’s red.  Some days it is blond.  Others it looks brown.

2.  Dog food is apparently delicious because unless we deprive Stella of her much-needed meals, Nathan will constantly insist on eating her food.

1.  Step by step, every day Nathan gets that much closer to achieving Jeremy’s dream of him becoming a world-class break dancer.  (That means he’s getting closer to walking.)

So, there you have it, folks.  I’ll leave you with two parting shot.  The first picture of of mom and her friends and has nothing to do with Nathan.  The second picture is of Nathan and his new best friend (sort of).

Last Tuesday momma had a girls night out and went to the NKOTB concert.  That’s right, New Kids on the Block.  It was awesome!  Momma hadn’t been out in a long time and we all had a great time.  I had to share because, did I mention it was awesome?!?!

Stella is starting to tolerate Nathan more.  I’m not going to use the work like quite yet, but I think we will get there.  It helps that Nathan is always very willing to share his food with her.  This picture was taken after Stella’s new haircut.  She looks so pretty!

Snoozing with Daddy

Nathan was up pretty late…he just kept going and going and really didn’t seem to want to go to sleep.  It was time for a bottle, so we let him eat and continue to play.  All of a sudden it was like he hit a wall.  I came back into the living room and this is what I saw.

Notice the arms and hands.  They are exactly the same.  :)

Happy Birthday, Daddy!!!

Today is my daddy’s birthday.  My daddy is awesome and I love him very much.  To celebrate his birthday we went to my swimming lesson.

(Note from momma:  It was so humid in the pool area, this was the only picture that turned out.  I’ll take more pictures on Monday.)

Daddy swam with me this time because he said that momma and I looked like we were having so much fun and he wanted to join in.  I said the more, the merrier!  Daddy is pretty funny in the water.  He likes to play peek-a-boo and it mades me laugh so hard I almost inhaled the entire pool.  Ok, not really, but you get the picture.  He is one funny daddy.  We worked on all of my swimming skills, but the one I like to most is “baby bounces.”  Daddy throws me in the air so high I almost touch the sky.  Ok, just kidding again, but it’s pretty high.

After swimming momma took me to Target to get daddy’s birthday cake and presents.  I cannot tell you how excited I was when I saw all of the cake!  There were so many choices, I just didn’t know what to do.  I chose a delicious white cake with orange and blue frosting.  I wanted to get the bright orange monster cake for daddy, but momma decided the orange and blue one was a better choice.  I didn’t argue with her, because it is cake and I haven’t met a cake I don’t like at this point in my young life.

Anyway…momma bought daddy the new “Indiana Jones” CD and I picked out a big, comfy, fuzzy blanket from Stella and I.  I can’t wait to play tent under the blanket!

I thought daddy had a very good birthday, but it’s not over yet.  I still need to take him out to dinner.  Daddy gets to eat one delicious steak a year, so I’m taking daddy and momma to the steakhouse tomorrow night to continue the celebration.  I’m hoping there’s more cake left, too!
