Happy 6 weeks and 1 day!
Mom dropped the ball yesterday and forgot to do a 6 week post, but better late than never.
We have big news to report this week. On Saturday Nathan smiled at Mom for the first time. This was a true smile, not one brought on by gas or other bodily functions. I was able to snap a picture of the tail end of a couple of smiles, but my camera is kind of slow so you’ll kind of have to trust me on this one. (Note to Dad and Nate: Mother’s Day is coming up and that would be a perfect time to get Mom a better camera!
)

Notice in this next picture that not only is Nathan smiling (trust me), but he also has his hands open. He’s started opening them a lot more and grabbing onto things, notably Mom and Dad’s hair. Just one more accomplishment to add to the growing list of amazing ways Nathan is growing and changing every day.

We’ve started using the bottle now and Cousin Tyler is such a big helper every time we are with him. I told Aunt Angela this is good practice for his new brother or sister!

Tyler also thinks Nate needs to be barefoot all of the time, which is why he doesn’t have socks on in this picture.
Finally, Nathan has started sleeping exclusively in this crib at night, so I think we are going to put away the pack n’ play in our room. He’s not sleeping through the night yet, but is pretty good about only waking up a couple of times, eating and then going back to sleep. Hopefully within the next month or so we can work on sleeping longer at night, especially when Mom goes back to work.
